Spending many weekends just lying in the bed was not a good idea. It increased my belly fat as well. So, on one fine morning I decided to just kick start my Avenger 150 street and drive towards Rishikesh in Uttarakhand the northern state in India.
The place was suggested by many of my friends and this was the time best to explore this Shivalik ranges.
Early in the morning I along with my friend started this long bike trip of approximately 500KM’s in return. So, it started with great excitement and enthusiasm.
I love travel and am almost ready to travel to any corner of the world at any moment but from last many months I could not travel because of many reasons. But this trip just gave some adrenaline boost, particularly because it was my first bike trip.
So, starting our journey from Gurgaon and our first stop was Gaziabad in the stat of Uttar Pradesh. Having team and refreshing yourselves is very important while on any such long route travels.
Reached Roorke by the time of lunch and the sun was also very harsh. The best thing in the Roorke was that we found this restaurant Punjabi Dhaba, which serve really delicious food. After food it felt like having a nap but we had to move.
By the mid of day we reached to Haridwar. It is really a great place to relax on the back of river Ganga. Many pilgrims come to this place considering it the holi place. They have a bath in this holi river and the scene is really amazing.
We did not bath here even though to was scorching heat because we have still more than 100 KMs to travel and also indulge in some adventure sports as well.
So, back on the bike seat rushing towards the Rishikesh. It took more 2 hours to reach Rishikesh. Well, in riskiest there are many things and places one should never miss to explore.
The first thing we did was took a guide book for the best places to explore in the city. One thing is very clear that most the people come to Rishikesh because it’s close the capital city Delhi and the second it is considered as one of the holi city in India.
So, among the many place which are mostly religious places we first went to the Rishikesh Ghat and had a bath in open river. For our fortune a group of Elephants in the other side of the river appear.
After, the scenic view and bathing in the glacier cool water’s of Ganga we moved to the next attraction of the city, the Laksham Jhula. Lakshman Jhula is a simple suspension bridge on the river Ganga. It become scenic as the day falls down and lights come all over. It’s a beautiful scene.
Well, not left with enough time now before going to look for the Hotel it was ideal to have rafting first. As, if you are in Rishikesh and have not done rafting then you certainly have missed the best adventurous part of the city.
It was already too late and no any place to spend the night. Also, the greatest adventure waiting next day. We tried to explore the some apps to find hotel but not a good luck.
Finally, after taking a round of city finding budget and suitable hotel we fins one which charged just 1200 a night. Now, it was time to have dinner, relax and prepare for the next day adventure.
We had a simple dinner and went to bed. This day I have felt into deep sleep. Next day we wave up early in the morning and head to Rajaji National Park.
Rajaji National Park is an Indian national park and tiger reserve that encompasses the Shivaliks, near the foothills of the Himalayas. The park is spread over 820 km², and three districts of Uttarakhand: Haridwar, Dehradun and Pauri Garhwal.
The park is less than 20KM’s from Rishikesh. We rush to the park as it opens 6AM – 9AM in morning and 3:30PM – 6:30PM in the evening. Morning was best suited for us as we have to move back to Delhi.
I must tell you Rajaji National park is a must go in Rishikesh. Just book the Safari which costs 2100 for the entire jeep booking and in case of sharing it would cost 250 INR each person.
The best adventure is booking the entire jeep. You will have all the space and you will not miss any moment in case you happen to be fortunate in sporting any animal.
The park is home to more than 200 Asian Elephants, Tigers, Leopards, Wild Boar, Dear, Sambhar and other 350 bird species.
This part of the travel was most adventurous of all. Although, we did not sport the big cat not did we find elephants but the safari of more than 2 hours was amazing. It was really a booster of the nature, relaxing and satisfying.
After, spending more than two hours in the deep first we had our breakfast at the entrance of the park. Here you can also buy some souvenirs as well as a memory of the trip.
So, from here we took to the NH58 back to Gurgaon. At different intervals of time and travel we took breaks to refresh ourselves. Reached back by the evening of next day.
The trip was full of fun, adventure and amusements.
