Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar remains the capital city for summers and Jammu for winter, the practice called as Darbar Move. It was reportedly started in the late 19th century by Ranbir Singh, the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, to escape extreme weather conditions.

Summer (June-August) and Winter (December-January)
All the seasons in Kashmir are pleasant and full of life but I would recommend to visit the valley of saints during summer time. During summers all the corners are full of greenery and the weather remains pleasant. Further, during autumn one can find the valley covered in red leaves of chinar. Further  in winters Kashmir remains under the blanket of snow and a right time to enjoy winter sports.

Mughal Gardens and the old City monuments
Having a serene Shikara ride in the world famous Dal Lake is what visitors enjoy the most. But just after the ride one can explore the historical Mughal Gardens under the Zabarwan hill. There are three famous gardens Nishat Garden, Shalimar Garden and Harwan Garden each with a distinctive colloquial views but not to forget Pari Mahal and Chashma Shahi. After spending some time in these historical gardens then you can take a ride through foreshore road and reach to the old city of Srinagar. The city called as the city of Bridges has many brides but 7 being famous among all. Before entering the city one can have a short stay at Hazratbal Shrine. The epitome of history, believe and peace. From here the historic tour of the city begins. The historical Jama Masjid, Shah-i-Hamdan shrine and many other places which would take you on historical tour of the city.
